Biography

Iain lives in Braunton, is married and has two sons. He started his career in Hull, working for a community development organisation, and then carrying out research into community views on adult learning for the Local Learning Partnership. From there, Iain joined the National Foundation for Educational Research, leading research projects and evaluations for Government departments and national charities into issues ranging from achievement, to disadvantage and STEM provision.

Iain relocated to North Devon in 2010 and led a HEFCE funded research project at the University of Exeter with three other institutions examining and evaluating the different ways universities could operate more efficiently and effectively. He then moved into the University鈥檚 Strategy and Planning Department, leading on the risk management process, and working with the Colleges on the strategic planning process for the University.

Iain moved to North Devon Homes in 2015, where he is currently the Head of Governance, Risk and Assurance. He is a passionate believer in the transformative power of education and is keen to continue to contribute to education in the place he lives.

Iain is also a musician who has released several albums, and gigs regularly. He enjoys surfing, running and cycling and is also a member of Croyde Baptist Church.
